Sterile Processing Technician

Job Details

We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician for a temp-to-perm opportunity. This position involves rotating weekend shifts and a holiday rotation. Candidates should be prepared to float to various facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of medical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards in sterile processing.
• Work collaboratively with clinical staff to meet the needs of various surgical cases.
• Participate in rotating weekends and holiday shifts based on departmental requirements.
• Join emergency response teams during hurricane season, as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Required experience includes sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping.
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma settings is mandatory.
• Preferred experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases.
• National certifications required: CBSPD and/or HSPA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is not required.

Additional Information

• Local candidates may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be provided upfront and will be reviewed based on departmental needs.
• Guarantee of hours includes the possibility of being called off for one shift every two weeks.
• Staff members may not exceed two call-outs without a medical note and three tardies.
• All travelers are expected to work during open holidays unless previously noted on RTO requests.
• Parking is available for a one-time charge during nights and weekends.
