Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Cath Lab.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions before, during, and after procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians and team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding procedures and care plans.
• Maintain equipment and ensure the Cath Lab environment is safe and sterile.
• Participate in on-call rotations, responding to emergency situations as necessary.
• Float to pre-operative and post-anesthesia care unit as needed.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or equivalent clinical background.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Possession of CPI certification is expected upon completion of orientation.
• NIH Stroke certification preferred.

Work Schedule

This position requires a 4×10 work schedule with day shifts from 07:00 to 17:30. Additionally, there is a requirement for one scheduled late shift per week (10:00 – 20:30) based on case needs.

On-Call Requirements

• Must be within a 30-minute arrival time from the facility when scheduled on-call.
• Scheduled on-call shifts run from 17:30 to 07:00 Monday through Friday, and from 07:00 to 07:00 on weekends and holidays.
• Participation in approximately 10-13 call shifts per month is required.

Patient Demographics and Procedures

Average daily census ranges from 7 to 14 cases. Common patient diagnoses include Acute Coronary Syndrome, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, AFIB, and Bradycardia. Procedures performed include Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Pacemakers, Loop monitors, TEE, and Cardioversions. Equipment utilized includes Balloon Pumps and IVUS.

Additional Information

Sterile surgical scrubs will be provided to wear during each shift. Commitment to patient safety and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
