Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, holistic care to patients and their families in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role emphasizes independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions aligned with specific service area standards and competencies. The RN’s scope of practice encompasses the care of patients across all life stages, including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develop and revise patient care plans, ensuring coordinated care amongst various healthcare professionals.
• Delegate activities to other customer care providers as appropriate, promoting the efficient delivery of care.
• Engage in shared accountability and decision-making processes regarding nursing practices.
• Exhibit personal leadership qualities and skills to define, implement, and enhance practice standards and the care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience (ICU or ED)
• Previous experience in the PACU setting
• Experience with travel nursing
• Proficiency in using Epic electronic health record system
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC)
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms accurately
• Experience caring for pediatric through geriatric patient populations
• Experience in a Trauma Level I facility

Work Schedule

Shifts may include days and evenings: 0700-1530, 0900-1730, 1100-1930, and 1500-2330. Additionally, there is a requirement to work every third weekend.
