Infusion Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Infusion Nurse for an outpatient IV therapy department. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care within a team-oriented environment.

Position Information

  • Shift: Monday – Friday, 07:45 AM – 04:30 PM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 40
  • Weekend Hours: None
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Years of Experience: 2+ years with at least 1 year of travel experience required
  • Float Requirements: No

Education & Certifications

  • Active RN License to practice in the state of Maine
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card (preferred but not required)

Unit Information

  • Infusion Spaces: 21 chairs with an average daily census of 46 patients
  • Patient Ratios: Varies from 1:7 to 1:9 depending on treatment type and acuity
  • Equipment: IV Pump
  • EMR: Epic

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer peripheral IVs and manage central line care
  • Provide medication administration, including blood transfusions
  • Deliver chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments as required

Qualifications

  • Must Have Skills/Experience: Proficient in peripheral IV skills, central line care, medication administration, and blood transfusions
  • Preferred Skillset: Experience in chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration

Additional Information

This position is specifically for an outpatient infusion department and not for vascular access. Experience in administering chemotherapy/immunotherapy in an outpatient setting is required along with active ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification.
