ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Minimum Experience Required

2.0 years of ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Certifications/Requirements

• Valid Illinois RN License
• CPR Certification
• ACLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced RN for our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. Candidates must be open to floating down to Step-Down ICU as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in providing care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Document patient care according to established standards.
• Develop, implement, and execute individualized patient care plans as directed by physicians and hospital policy, including instruction for patients and their families.
• Engage in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments in support of patients’ longitudinal plans of care.
• Utilize critical thinking skills regarding patient safety and experience, appropriately escalating concerns to the proper chain of command.
