Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Description

Join a dynamic 65-bed Emergency Department with a pod-based layout, featuring a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area.

Position Details

This is a night position requiring a commitment of 36 to 48 hours per week, with weekend shifts mandated every other week. The Emergency Department experiences an average census of 230 visits per day.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer IV therapy and phlebotomy as necessary.
• Conduct EKGs and cardiac monitoring.
• Implement point-of-care testing and provide patient education.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to address diverse patient needs in the ED setting.
• Engage in splinting as required by patient conditions.

Patient Population

Care is provided to a diverse patient population across all age groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required.
• Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are mandatory.
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
• Willingness to float to ED Observation, Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and Emergency Department Psych Observation as needed.
• Ability to adapt to rotating shifts, including occasional requests for day shifts.
