Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)

This position involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in the operating room. The role requires adherence to organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards, utilizing a framework for professional nursing practice and development.

The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves and others under their direction. Specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills are required to effectively assess data, plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate the nursing care needs of patients.
• Plan and implement nursing care in accordance with established protocols.
• Document all nursing activities accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding procedures and care plans.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in General Operating Room nursing.
• Experience in GYN, bariatrics, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, and plastic surgeries.
• Active RN license in Maryland; verification must be no more than 30 days old.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• COVID vaccination required; declinations will not be accepted.
• No scheduling restrictions; must be flexible to work based on facility needs.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
