Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is for an experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) who will provide essential nursing care across multiple units within the organization. The role involves rotating through various Med/Surg Telemetry areas, ensuring high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac patients effectively with telemetry equipment.
• Administer cardiac drips and accurately interpret telemetry strips every four hours.
• Float between assigned Med/Surg Telemetry units as required.
• Handle patient care for ED border patients and non-vented patients ready for transfer from the ICU.
• Serve as a medication nurse within the acute mental health unit.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience required.
• 2 years of travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips.

Work Environment

The Float Pool Registered Nurse will be responsible for up to 5:1 patient ratios during day and evening shifts, and up to 6:1 during night shifts. The working environment includes a total of 371 beds across various units, each ranging from 8 to 41 beds.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility, with rotating day/evening/night shifts and working every other weekend.
