Job Summary

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for the preparation, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. This role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and aseptic technique are maintained in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize proper sterilization techniques and ensure equipment is operated safely.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments for various procedures.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on sterilization equipment.
• Monitor and document sterilization cycles and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure timely availability of instruments.
• Train and mentor new staff in sterilization practices and protocols.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterilization processes.
• Prior experience in a central sterile processing environment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.

Work Schedule

This position is scheduled for evening and night shifts, specifically from 3 PM to 11:30 PM.
