Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) settings. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience, including expertise in labor and delivery, post-partum care, and c-section circulation.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 1:6; Unit census ranges from 3 to 24 patients
• Equipment: External Fetal Monitoring (EFM), IV
• EHR: EPIC, Powerchart, Omnicell Med System
• Patient Population: Neonates and Adults

Shift Details

• Shift Schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3×12’s) – NIGHTS – Self Scheduling
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: As needed
• Call Requirements: Yes

Required Certifications

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – REQUIRED
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – REQUIRED
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• AWHONN Intermediate (preferred)

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, LDRP, and Postpartum care.
• Ability to manage a 3-couplet assignment efficiently.
• Skilled in triaging obstetrical patients and using EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring).
• Competence in starting and maintaining peripheral IVs.
• Experience administering antihypertensives and insulin drips.
• Ability to assist with vaginal deliveries and recover C-sections.
• Familiarity with APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and security banding.
• Knowledge in managing epidural anesthesia and pain assessment/management.
• Experience in postpartum care and procedures, including mother/baby postpartum care.

Preferred Skillset

• Experience in Level 1 Nursery and Mother/Baby care.
• Ability to circulate for C-sections.
