Inpatient General Surgery Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Description

The Ortho-Urology Unit is a thirty-six-bed adult inpatient unit specializing in orthopedic, urologic, and surgical care. The patient population includes individuals who are post-surgical and those awaiting surgery from various admissions.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the orthopedic and urology inpatient unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
• Monitor patients’ progress and report any changes in condition to the medical staff.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about postoperative care and health management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Level 1 nursing experience required.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Active and unrestricted nursing license required.

Schedule

This position may require a 36-hour workweek with rotating day and night shifts.
