Cardiac Cath/EP Technologist

Shift Information

This position is scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with one to two weeknight calls and every fourth weekend on call. Holiday coverage is also required.

Job Duties

• Verify package integrity and expiration dates on all sterile supplies.
• Prepare patients and equipment for utilization of sterile technique.
• After procedures, prepare equipment and supplies for sterilization.
• Monitor and record all procedural data and maintain procedural event logs.
• Ensure patient comfort while familiarizing them with the equipment and supplies needed for the procedure.
• Apply necessary monitors and prepare access sites, including the necessary sterile drapes.
• Utilize sterile and aseptic techniques when scrubbing into a procedure to prevent infections.
• Advocate for radiation safety and protection for self and coworkers, using personal radiation dosimeters and taking precautions to limit patient and staff exposure.
• Document fluoroscopy time and radiation doses, evaluating reports to determine if values are within established safety limits.

Education and Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiology program (Education verification required).
• Certification/Licensure: AART registered.
• Wisconsin State Radiology Technologist License.
• Cardiovascular Technologist registered.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification.

Experience

Minimum years of experience required: Less than 1 year.
