Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

• Unit Type: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Shift Notes: Day shift from 7 AM to 7 PM. Every other weekend is required.

Unit Information

The unit consists of 44 beds and 40 staff members, maintaining care ratios of 1:5, and possibly 1:6 on days and nights. Nurse aides are available with a caregiver ratio of typically 1:8, generally 1:10, and additional sitters are provided.

Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically Meditech, is preferred but not mandatory.

Orientation

• General Orientation: 1 week, including EMR training.
• Unit-Specific Orientation: 2 days.

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required.
• Holiday Requirement: As needed.
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue.
• Floating Policy: Float to all acute care and cardio units as necessary.
